Dive Sites
Turtle Reef
The 'Turtle Reef' is our Inner Reef with a maximum depth of about 8 - 10 meters. A beautiful circuit and as the name suggests, turtles are very often seen on this reef.
Drummers Reef
At dive site ‚Drummers Reef‘ you follow a channellike way before you reach the edge of the reef. On this way you can often find blue spotted stingrays. What´s special about this place is a big flowerlike anemone surrounded by shrimps and pipefish. You will aswell dive above a field of anemones and an extremely beautiful and enlivened coral block. You can often find leaf fish here.
This Dive Spot is about 10 minutes from the Dive Center at a depth of about 12-25 meters
Canyon, Canyon North, Soft Coral und Brain Coral
At dive site ‘Canyon’, the reef rises again after a rift which is about 25 meter wide. Large stingrays are occasionally seen in this channel. Sometimes we have some current there.
Beautiful coral growth with schools of blue striped snappers, fusiliers, surgeonfish and much more.
At dive site ‘Brain Coral’ you’ll find a huge brain coral, on which various species of coral fish and moray eels have settled.
These dive sites are also suitable for beginners and located
about 10 – 15 minutes away from the Dive Center.
Canyon South, Red Fire, Dolphin Corner
These dive sites are located on the middle reef and drop from 10 to about
28 meters.
‚Canyon South‘ has a small cave with numerous juvenile fish and a large moray eel, which often shows up.
A variety of schools of fish such as e.g batfish, barracuda, flute fish can be found at this dive site. Occasionally, you can also see large Napoleon fish.
At ‘Red Fire Place’ you see various species of lion and leaf fesh as well as a mixture of fantastic corals, many different types of fish and much more.
At ,Dolphin Corner‘ you dive over a canal and, if you are lucky, meet this great species.
These dive sites are also suitable for beginners and located
about 10 – 15 minutes away from the Dive Center.
Oktopus Reef, Moray Reef
These two dive sites are located on the Octopus Reef and drop from 10 meters to approx. 27 meters before merging into a sandy bottom.
Often you spot seaturtles on this side of the reef.
At ‚Octopus Reef‘ you have a good chance to meet these lovely animals.
Occasionally, a black or white tip shark can be seen sleeping under a rock. Schools of blue-striped snapper are at home there.
At ‚Moray Reef‘ lots of flute fish fusiliers and barracuda can be found. The special feature of this reef are the small residents; many colorful nudi branchs in different variations.
Tewa Reef
At ‚Tewa Reef‘ it is wonderful to dive along the reef and enjoy the beauty of the underwater world with all its surprises.
The dive site is also suitable for beginners and about 10 – 15 minutes far away from the Dive Center.
Due to the large occurrence of plankton in Watamu Bay, there is a chance to spot manta rays or even a whale shark along the reef. The best time to see these animals is from November to late March.
Secret Garden
A rare red anemone, plenty of shrimp, lobsters and often ribbon eels can be spotted around. Schools of blue striped snappers, fusiliers and surgeonfish live there as well.
The Dive Site can be reached in about 25 minutes and is only suitable for experienced divers
Black Coral
At a depth of 30 – 40 meters you’ll spot black corals, which are unknown to many divers. This beauty can be admired here.
Another special feature are the rare blue and yellow sea cucumbers which never moved away. You can often see them filtering their food from the plankton-rich water when they open.
Even huge sea fan, which reach a size of
1 – 1,5 meters, can also be found there. Many wipe corals and lots of different kind of fish are on the reef.
The Dive Site can be reached in about 15 minutes and is only suitable for experienced divers.
