Discover Watamu

The adjacent Underwater National Park (Watamu Marine National Park & Reserve) is one of the oldest in Africa. Fishing is prohibited in the National Park. Encounters with turtles, whale sharks, dolphins and manta rays are not uncommon here. There are over 150 species of colorful and healthy hard and soft corals and a wide variety of fish species.

Watamu is also an important breeding area for turtles - mainly green turtles and hawksbill turtles.

At least twice a day we take our boats to one of the approx 15 different dive sites on our large reef. All places can be reached within 10 – 25 minutes. Individual diving in small groups (max. 4 divers per guide) is guaranteed.

Of course, we put together the groups according to the experience, desires and qualifications of the divers.

We offer all dive courses from Beginner to Divemaster in german, english and kisuaheli

The Dive Center is mainly equipped with materials from Scubapro.

More than 40 complete sets of dive equipment are available. Our equipment includes over 100 steel tanks (10l, 12l) with INT & DIN connections as well as dive computers and other extras. Nitrox diving is available. All equipment (e.g. wetsuits, BCD’s, regulators, masks, snorkels, fins) can be hired at additional cost.

The best conditions for diving are between mid-October and April.

During the other months, diving on the outer reef cannot be guaranteed due to weather- and sea conditions. But at this time, we usually dive on our Inner Reef (Turtle Reef) if the conditions allow it. With a depth of about 10 meters the Inner Reef is particularly suitable for beginners and turtles can be spotted very often. The Outer Reef is about 10 - 30 meters deep.

The Dive Center is open all time of the year for 7 days a week.
